Hyperreal all questions answered

1. What is Hyperreal?

Another Day In Paradise is my second, full-length collection (40 poems) and follows on from my

first, Mislilac (Thinker). My work can be read sequentially, or as 'stand-alone' ebooks; whilst they all work together, each have their own themes and story-lines. I discuss in more detail why I have

chosen to structure my collections this way in our filmed Q+A video for Another Day In Paradise

2. What does Hyperreal mean?

Another Day In Paradise explores the relationship between the self and the idea of faith/having faith/conflicts and contradictions between the self and something higher, as well as how navigating this can impact the relationships between the self and others. The voices in the poems are emotionally charged, but have developed to be somewhat more experienced and observant than those in the previous collections.

3. How can I read Hyperreal

Hyperreal is available through the hmrwrites shop (from 9am 28.08.20).

Please note that in response to feedback, we have made my work available to buy as pdf downloads directly from my website through the hmrwrites shop, and so have chosen not to publish Hyperreal on Amazon.

It has come to my attention that the Kindle download versions of my work (available on Amazon) are susceptible to formatting errors, which can affect the presentation, and subsequently the quality, of my work. Please feel free to email hmrwrites@hotmail.com for any further information surrounding this.

4. How much is Hyperreal

Through the hmrwrites shop as a pdf download, Hyperreal costs £3.99/approx. $5.06.

5. I don't have a Kindle or ebook reader, can I still read Hyperreal?

Yes! Hyperreal is only available as a pdf download from the hmrwrites shop (please see Q3 above).  When buying as a pdf download, Hyperreal can be read on any device that accepts a pdf format (such as PC, tablet, phone, etc). All information regarding this can be found at hmrwrites.com

6. When I purchase Hyperreal through the hmrwrites shop, why does my confirmation email say the product is 'only valid for 30 days'?

When you buy an ebook from the hmrwrites shop, you are buying a digital pdf download. The 'valid for 30 days' refers to the link in the confirmation email, which is valid for 30 days before expiring. In that 30 days after the initial purchase, you are able to download the pdf and keep it forever; the '30 days expiration' refers to the link rather than the product. Please feel free to email hmrwrites@hotmail.com for any further information surrounding this.

7. How did you come up with the name for the collection?

Hyperreal

8. How can I get involved?

You can get involved by downloading your own copy of Hyperreal from the hmrwrites shop, following my socials (@hmrwrites on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) where all work and information related to Hyperreal, as well as future releases, will be posted, and by using the hashtag #Hyperreak to get involved in the conversation.

Didn't answer your question?

We posted a Q&A for this collection, where Hannah answers more questions related to Hyperreal specifically - such as the themes, what to expect from the poems and how it relates to her other works - which you can view here

If you're intrigued by Hyperreal but don't want to commit to buying, you can view a preview of the collection here, or watch a video that further explores the background and inspiration behind the collection here.

7. How did you come up with the name for the collection?

Another Day In Paradise is a slightly satirical nod to the Garden of Eden and discussion surrounding what 'paradise' actually is. It also links to the classic good vs evil power struggle, as this conflict is challenged and ridiculed throughout the collection.

6. Why the lemon?

It kind of links to the title, but I wanted it to be a bit weird and make people THINK about why I've used it (essentially is the logo/art for the collection).

7. How did you come up with such an original name for the collection?

'Mislilac' means 'Thinker' in some strands of Latin and is the name of the famous 'Thinker' statue. The collection discusses various types of relationships and encourages the reader to THINK and respond.

How Best to Stage a Breakdown all questions answered All questions are taken from @hmrwrites social media followers and subscribers and answered by H.M. Reynolds  Last updated 15.10.19

1. What is How Best to Stage a Breakdown?

How Best to Stage a Breakdown is my debut chapbook and the first 'collection' of poems I released (20 poems).

2. What's it about?

How Best to Stage a Breakdown explores a variety of mental-health issues and difficult topics. There are multiple perspectives within the collection - drawing upon childhood, looking to the future and imagined scenarios - that are left vague enough for the reader to assign and try to figure out.

3. How can I get How Best to Stage a Breakdown

It is available when signing up to hmrwrites here, through the hmrwrites shop, or through Amazon.

4. How much is How Best to Stage a Breakdown

How Best to Stage a Breakdown will always remain free from my website when signing up to hmrwrites here.

From my store as a pdf download How Best to Stage a Breakdown, costs 0.99p/approx. $1,25. The sales of every copy of How Best to Stage a Breakdown sold through the hmrwrites shop are supporting Plan International UK, which works to advance child rights and equality for girls across the world.

From Amazon as a Kindle download, How Best to Stage a Breakdown costs 0.99p/$1.25. The sales of every copy of How Best to Stage a Breakdown sold through Amazon are supporting Plan International UK, which works to advance child rights and equality for girls across the world.

5. I don't have a Kindle or ebook reader, can I still read How Best to Stage a Breakdown?

Yes! As well as being available on Amazon as a Kindle download, How Best to Stage a Breakdown is available as a pdf download when signing up to hmrwrites here. When buying as/signing up for a pdf download, How Best to Stage a Breakdown can be read on any device that accepts a pdf format (such as PC, tablet, phone, etc). All information regarding this can be found at hmrwrites.com

6. When I purchase How Best to Stage a Breakdown through the hmrwrites shop, why does my confirmation email say the product is 'only valid for 30 days'?

When you buy an ebook from the hmrwrites shop, you are buying a digital pdf download. The 'valid for 30 days' refers to the link in the confirmation email, which is valid for 30 days before expiring. Please feel free to email hmrwrites@hotmail.com for any further information surrounding this.

7. How did you come up with the name for the collection?

How Best to Stage a Breakdown is inevitably influenced by my own interactions in hospitals and experiences, so is loosely based on my times spent as an inpatient. The name for me is slightly tongue-in-cheek and acts as recognising problems for what they are; to the unfamiliar eye, a slight relapse in function can all too often be misread and treated as a breakdown.

#30dayshmr all questions answered

All questions are taken from @hmrwrites social media followers and subscribers and answered by H.M. Reynolds  Last updated 30.06.20

1. What is #30dayshmr?

#30dayshmr is essentially 30 prompts for writing poetry, which I initially gathered to make myself write every day for a month, and to be held accountable to this by documenting the process on social media. Whilst I have had success with the free writing process in the past, I was in a rut with my writing and note taking, and wanted to try using prompts. #30dayshmr is a writing challenge which I have encouraged my followers on my socials to join in with. The ‘poems’ created are often messy, experimental and unstructured.

2. How can I get involved?

You can get involved by using the given prompts in any way you choose for your own poetry and writing projects. I have had some followers use one prompt and then go on to write a longer poem, others only use the ones they like, and some have joined in with me from time to time. You can also get involved by following my socials (@hmrwrites on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), and using the hashtag #30dayshmr.

3. How can I get #30dayshmr

Editions of #30dayshmr are available to purchase as pdf downloads through the hmrwrites shop. The poems included within these ebooks can also be read for free online via the hmrwrites Facebook page

As of 1st February 2020, hmrwrites will no longer sell individual months of #30dayshmr through the hmrwrites shop, and instead sell them in six-month blocks and year long bundles. The current editions of #30dayshmr available through the hmwrites shop are as follows:

#30dayshmr 1-6 (2019)                                    £2.99/approx. $3.89

(Includes months June-July, August, September, October, November and December)

#30dayshmr 7-12 (2020)                                  £.299/approx. $3.89

(Includes months January, February, March, April, May and June)

#30dayshmr 1-6 + 7-12 bundle (2019/20)     £4.99/approx. $6.21

(Includes months June-July, August, September, October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May and June).

Please note approx. figures are given for US dollars ($) due to the changes in conversion rates.

4. How much is #30dayshmr?

From my store as a pdf downloads, each bi-annual collection of #30dayshmr costs £2.99/approx. $3.89. each, and each bundle of two bi-annual #30dayshmr collections costs £4.99/approx. each. The sales of every copy of #30dayshmr sold through the hmrwrites shop are supporting Plan International UK, which works to advance child rights and equality for girls across the world.

All of the responses from every month of #30dayshmr are free to read online via the hmrwrites Facebook page and the Resources page of the hmrwrites website. Each edition of #30dayshmr has its own album and colour scheme, which has been used across hmrwrites.com and the @hmrwrites socials (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).

5. When I purchase a #30dayshmr ebook through the hmrwrites shop, why does my confirmation email say the product is 'only valid for 30 days'?

When you buy an ebook from the hmrwrites shop, you are buying a digital pdf download. The 'valid for 30 days' refers to the link in the confirmation email, which is valid for 30 days before expiring. In that 30 days after the initial purchase, you are able to download the pdf and keep it forever; the '30 days expiration' refers to the link rather than the product. Please feel free to email hmrwrites@hotmail.com for any further information surrounding this.

6. Will there be more#30dayshmr?

The previous #30dayshmr challenge ran from 1st June 2020 for 30 days until 30th June 2020.

#30dayshmr is currently taking an indefinite break. Any updates regarding future #30dayshmr challenges and writing prompts will be here, as well as across the @hmrwrites socials Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Thank you for your patience and support for #30dayshmr and hmrwrites.

Email Subscription questions answered

All questions are taken from @hmrwrites social media followers and subscribers and answered by H.M. Reynolds  Last updated 10.11.19

1. 'I've entered my email address for my free book, but I haven't received any emails, how do I get the book'?

Please check your junk and spam folders as most email providers view hmrwrites emails as spam. If you do not see any email from hmrwrites in any of your inboxes within ten minutes of signing up, please contact hmrwrites@hotmail.com

When you enter your email address into the subscriber box on the homepage, you are agreeing to the privacy policy, signing up to receive a free ebook (rather than a physical book) and to subscribe to hmrwrites newsletters. The first email you should receive will give you a link for a pdf digital download of How Best to Stage a Breakdown. As some email providers view external links as unsafe, you may also need to add hmrwrites to your safe senders list in order to download the ebook and to keep receiving emails from hmrwrites.

You can unsubscribe from hmrwrites newsletters at any time by either emailing hmrwrites@hotmail.com, or following the 'unsubscribe' links at the bottom of any hmrwrites newsletter.

2. 'I've subscribed to hmrwrites and received my free ebook, but haven't received any hmrwrites newsletters'?

Please check your junk and spam folders as most email providers view hmrwrites emails as spam. If you cannot see any email from hmrwrites in any of your inboxes, please contact hmrwrites@hotmail.com

You may need to check that hmrwrites has been added to your safe senders list, as most email providers view our newsletters as spam. This is partly due to the automated system from our website provider, and also due the us not currently sending regular email newsletters.

Layout Issues questions answered

All questions are taken from @hmrwrites social media followers and subscribers and answered by H.M. Reynolds  Last updated 10.11.19

Firstly, my apologies to ANYONE who has experienced ANY difficulties with the hmrwrites site. I use a website provider to design the site (as my technical knowledge is awful), so have limitations and restrictions in terms of design. Thank you for your ongoing patience and support.

That said, I try to make hmrwrites.com as accessible as possible for as many people as I can, and want to continue to improve in all areas of the site. I really appreciate any criticisms in all aspects of hmrwrites, so please do not hesitate to fill out a feedback form or to contact hmrwrites@hotmail.com if you have any concerns or suggestions that I can try to resolve.

1. 'The 'free ebook' banner overlaps and I can't access all pages'?

With regards to the 'free ebook' banner, that can be seen at the top of every page, I have been made aware that on certain devices, this can cover some of the page titles. Unfortunately, I cannot resize this in a way that works on all devices (only in a way that works on 'most'), and am working to find a solution. All the pages of the hmrwrites website can be accessed here via these links:

Home    About    Shop    Collaborate    Resources    Contact    FAQs

On the mobile version of the site, we have removed the banner as this was causing too many issues. You can still receive the free ebook however by going to the homepage, and scrolling to the subscriber box (first grey box on the page, please see image 1).

2. 'I can access hmrwrites on my desktop, but the phone version is confusing and looks very different'?

In honesty, there have been some issues with regards to the mobile version of the site, and I am working continuously to try to resolve these and develop the site in any way I can. One of the main issues however is that the mobile version of hmrwrites.com is a little slow to load, and sadly I cannot do anything to improve this as this is an issue with the website provider I use (so please be patient, I promise the content is worth it)!

The navigation for hmrwrites.com is also different between a mobile and desktop (and other devices such as tablets). The contents for the site on a mobile is situated at the top right of the page, and the pages can be navigated from here (please see images 1 and 2 , which show what hmrwrites.com looks like on an iPhone).
